#BAND CAMINO SERIES#
Since 2015, the Nashville band has endeared themselves to fans with a series of blithesome EPs2016’s My Thoughts on. The relatability of the lyrics, the bright, energetic pop sound, good vibes, and is what draws fans to the Band Camino. Behind independently released singles like the bright '2/14' and the soaring piano ballad 'The Black and White,' they became a major streaming success in the latter half of the 2010s, forging a path to their 2019 full-length debut, tryhard, on Elektra Records. My friend Elizabeth is one of these OG fans. Hailing from Memphis, the Band Camino play an appealing blend of uplifting indie rock and lush, romantic electro-pop. That’s not to say these University of Memphis alums don’t have a Bluff City fanbase. I think the trio is a solid example of that. Sometimes (often, even) artists and bands get popular in Memphis, but then reach even more fans outside of our local scene. What impresses me most is the VERY dedicated and enormous worldwide following that The Band Camino has earned. This group may be Nashville-based and have a slightly different lineup now, but they still call Memphis home.
The Band Camino was formed in 2015, and they released their debut EP My.
The band consists of Jeffrey Jordan on vocals and guitar, Spencer Stewart on vocals and guitar, and Garrison Burgess on drums. They talked about their love of Memphis and how the city (and the city’s music scene) had influenced them. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, United States, The Band Camino is an American band that performs indie rock and electropop music. I think back to when we had contributor Baylee grab a beer with these young musicians a few years ago. Whatever you want to call it, a couple years ago they were playing at The Bluff and headlining 901 Fest…and now they’re selling out tours, hitting 2.5 million monthly Spotify streams, performing at Lollapalooza, going on Jimmy Kimmel and just generally kicking ass. Their music has been described as pop, electropop, indie rock, guitar-forward.

Their self-titled debut album came out in September 2021, so you can expect their set list to focus on the new tracks, plus fan favorites from their EP tryhard which boasts the aforementioned “ See Through” and “ 1 Last Cigarette”.
